We now are using Kindful and Bloomerang processing (powered by Stripe) as a more secure and cost effective system for us and you. We prefer you use our standard giving method though our regular giving buttons, if you feel secure enough to do so, even over Paypal. It is fully PCI compliant and encrypted so it’s as safe as possible, even safer than mailing a check. Secure ACH eCheck is also available that way. Doing so saves us administration work as the Kindful system integrates with our Quickbooks account saving us time confusion.

How do I manage my donations or see giving history online? A- Please click the create account small link under the donate button on the giving form or the button above for the donor portal. I created a AFM.Kindful donor account online after the fact of donating some time ago, and I do not see my prior transactions or payment methods, and cannot modify my giving schedule. So how can I correct this? A- Assuming you used the same name, and email as what was used before, the Kindful system will normally merge your data automatically but not instantly. Sometimes it takes an hour or so. Try logging back in after some time passes, and if it still does not show up, then email Tanya Eaton and she will manually merge your new account with the old and then it will work as should. Does all my donation go towards the end need? A- We do have some costs associated with processing donations and as a ministry do our best to get as much as possible towards the end use needs. Since we are a fully volunteer ministry, you can be assured the the highest possible throughput is achieved. Our overhead is very low typically under 5% each year. Credit card fees alone can zap away up to 3%, although we do get a non-profit discount. This is why we ask all donors to consider ticking the box when giving online to help us cover those costs and allow more to get to the end needs.
Can I donate items of value like a car or other assets and get a tax credit? A- Yes. If you have something of value that we can convert into cash, or you purchase something for Mercy Ministries and ship to us that was requested by Stephanie or one of our staff, then we can get you a receipt for that item’s worth. All we need is some form of payment receipt sent with the description. Contact us via our general email info@mercyministries.ngo and one of us will reply.
Can I donate cryptocurrency and get a tax receipt? A- Yes. Please contact email China@mercyministries.ngo and we will work with you to receive it and get it converted to cash, or text @ 469-712-5338 for a crypto address to use based on what type you prefer to send. We can receive anything Kucoin trades.
Can you receive donations via Zelle payment transfers? A- Yes. You can send direct payment donations to Mercy Ministries using David’s email, david@afm.ngo, but please send him notice beforehand to his email, because the Chase Zelle system gives us no information on who sent money and why. The nice thing about Zelle, is it is fast and free of charge for us and you.
What if I or my organization wanted to give a very large donation? A- We are a certified 501c3 IRS approved charity, so yes we can get you properly receipted no matter the size of gift. Please contact our China Schmitz, our Mercy Ministries Treasurer at China@mercyministries.ngo beforehand so we can have you give via the best means or for bank wires.
Where can I find out your IRS tax status? A- You can download our IRS letter of determination from our AFM Documents page along with prior years 990 filings. We can also be found on public sites such as Candid Guidestar here https://www.guidestar.org . We are incorporated as AFM Ministry, so that is the best way to search, but you can usually also find us searching Mercy Ministries AFM Africa. Donations can be made under either name, as it is our registered DBA in Texas.
Can I send donations directly via Venmo, Cash or another cash application? A- No, we have not found a cash sending app that is set up for nonprofit organizations, therefore it would be you sending money to an individual person which is not receipt-able.
Can I give through Facebook? A- Yes, we are set up on Facebook as Mercy Ministries-AFM Africa for doing birthday fundraisers and such if you so desire, but Facebook acts as a donor advised charity fund and blinds us to most of the giving activity.
Can I do a personal online fundraiser? A- YES! If you want to do a fundraiser for us, contact Tanya Eaton and she can help you set up a special online crowdfunding page for birthdays or other events. Email her at Tanya@mercyministries.ngo
