Food Bag Distribution
Over the last 2 days delivering food bags I saw some adorable babies, beautiful children, breathtaking landscapes, muddy pathways used as roads, and lots of cute animals. I also saw and heard some heartbreaking stories of families skipping meals because there isn't enough food in the home, not enough money because there isn't enough work, medical needs not being met, babies going hungry and tragic stories of loss.
Really some of it is stuff that you don't believe really happens. Stuff you see on a commercial that you blow off as fake, staged, or exaggerated. I saw it with my own eyes, I sat and listened, with my own ears, to stories, true stories of more loss, hurt, and struggle than one family should endure.
I was blessed by the sharing of life, the good, the bad and the burdens. I was blessed by the smiles and thank yous. I was blessed to have the warm sun beaming down on me for hours with the wind blowing in my face. I was blessed to be able to meet these people and share some food with them. If you ever think your $5 doesn't matter here, please let me assure you that it does. $5 matters, it feeds families, it feeds babies, it provides medical care, it shares the Gospel, it loves children...and all of that matters.
It has been an emotional few days, even a hard few days, but such a blessing. Keep praying for us and our village during this time. Pray that we follow His will and help others. Pray that hearts would be changed and that He would be glorified! Thank you for all of your love and support here, it means more than you can know!
