Happy Water Play Day
We are trying to get better about scheduling play times and activities for our kids. It might seem kind of silly to schedule play, but we have found that if we do not do that they just run around, get bored and then find something to do, sometimes it is something that they shouldn't be doing.
Today we used a couple wash basins and some rain water and the kids had a blast. They were singing, giggling and splashing away almost as if they had never played in the water. It must have been that we set it up for them because I'm positive they play in water daily around here 😂.
We are also working on gathering toys that we can keep put away and bring out during certain times under supervision. We have 4 caretakers now, so it is easier to structure playtime for our younger kids now. Often times our toys just disappear, they get broken, or someone takes them apart to see what's inside. We can purchase toys here, but they are either way too expensive, super cheaply made or not available in our area (which means they are expensive and then we need to pay extra to get them to us). Just for example I was looking at second-hand toys the other day and a toy that would cost under $15 new in the states is $17 used here and if it has multiple pieces you are guaranteed that those are gone. I was hoping to pay $3 or $4 for that toy, so I left it behind, a lot of the prices here for good toys just don't seem reasonable to me.
Tomorrow I will pick up a couple of cups and funnels and see if the kids enjoy adding that to their water play as well. Thank you for all of your support here. Thank you for making moments like this possible. Thank you for praying for these sweet babies. Thank you for encouraging us to continue to grow and add to the ministry work here.
