Mercy Christian Academy
Since school is finally reopening for Kenya in January 2021🎉🎊 we decided to use any end of year donations that we get for Mercy Christian Academy. The majority of school has been out for the last 7 months and we will need to restock some supplies like pens, pencils and notebooks. We also need to add some supplies that we've never had because we couldn't find them before like construction paper, kids' scissors and handwriting paper. Due to Covid and needing to be cautious I would love to be able to provide a pencil box of supplies for each student to cut down on the sharing of supplies, but that could be costly for 180ish students, so we will have to see if the budget allows for that.
We will also likely need to purchase new shoes for the whole school, which can be done for around $400 if I purchase a croc style shoe locally. Thankfully we just had a large donation of school uniforms (which are required by the Kenyan government) sent over so we shouldn't have any uniform needs.
If you are able to make an end of year donation you will be helping our small school improve upon what we are doing. If you are new to Mercy Ministries, we provide schooling completely free to those in real need. In Kenya the families must pay for their children to attend school, even public school. It is very common for children to miss lots of school due to lack of money for school fees. By donating to Mercy Christian Academy you are giving us opportunity to daily proclaim the Gospel to many children who otherwise would not hear; plus 2 meals and a snack each school day, and a Christian education to those who may otherwise not have that opportunity.
