Update on Joseph
Over 3 years ago we met Joseph who was living on the streets of Bungoma. When we would see him in town he was always dirty, hungry and high from sniffing glue. He spent his days walking around town begging for money so he could get a cup of chai and a chapati. His life was sad and full of fear, the way he lived broke my heart and I quickly came to realize we had to do more than buy him food each time we were in town. The more we got to know Joseph the more we wanted to help him. He was often very quiet, but would always answer our questions.
3 years ago we brought Joseph home from town. We didn't know the big challenges we would soon face, but God did and He was so good through it all. Joseph is no longer spending his days begging in town, he is no longer sniffing glue, and he no longer has to worry about where his next meal will come from.
If you ever thought your prayers don't matter, look at that smile. If you have ever thought your donation didn't matter, look at that smile. If you ever thought that you taking time to share what God is doing here didn't matter, look at that smile. Joseph is no longer living in fear, he is learning about God's Word and Truth and the way He would have him live his life, he feels safe and loved and he is getting an education all because people who have never met him sacrifice their time and money to provide for him.
