Looking up in spite of sadness
It is easy for me to focus on the negatives. I don't know if this is because I grew up in a overly critical home or because I can be a bit of a perfectionist π€·π»ββοΈ. But me in the flesh naturally sees the negative and when something negative happens then all the negatives are in full focus for me. So to "combat" the negative and loss we have been walking through past few days, I want to share some before and "βduringβ pictures with you! πππ
Wilbur's picture is one of my favorites! Somehow I knew when I saw him living on the streets, dirty and abandoned, that there was so much more in there. Although Wilbur didn't want to come home with us the first few times we asked, I just KNEW he was supposed to be here. While Wilbur is quiet he is the sweetest, most gentle boy. And if he gives you his smile he automatically has your heart forever and ever.
Abi and Robai have lived with us for 3 and half years now, they were the first girls we took in. Both girls are doing great, growing and learning. Robai loves to cook on the gas stove and Abi loves being besties with Violet. These girls bring so much joy into our family!
Little Zekie boy isn't so little anymore! π This picture of him popped up in my memories today from 3 years ago! Such a tiny boy then, but his personality is HUGE now! I probably don't have to tell you this, but EVERYONE here LπVES Zekie and he knows it. He may not be the youngest in our family, but he is definitely "the baby" and gets what he wants.
God is good! In our struggles, in our loss, in our joys and in our victories, He never changes and is ALWAYS good. These "transformations" are part of what you are supporting when you pray for us or give your time and/or money. I know we are always asking for money and prayers, but when you are here and you see what a difference a "simple yes" can make it is hard to say no.
Thank you for loving our children. Thank you for caring about their spiritual and physical well-being. Thank you for providing food, clothing, shelter and so much more for these beautiful children. Thank you for trusting us, that isn't something that we take lightly and we are very aware that this is a big responsibility. Thank you for your continued love and support!
