Baby Emmanuel
On Monday I posted the following on Facebook. I intend to post it on the blog as well, but that didn't happen right away. Sorry this is late news for some of you.
It is with sadness that we share with y'all that Baby Emmanuel passed away this morning (Monday). On Saturday afternoon he started running a low fever so we sent him to the Dr for some basic testing. He was admitted to the hospital Saturday evening because he had a bacterial infection. Sunday the hospital requested to do a couple of more test which we agreed to and we were told he was doing better since he was getting antibiotics. Early this morning we were notified by our caretaker that was staying with him that suddenly he wasn't doing very well and she felt like he might not make it. A few minutes later we got a second call that he had passed away.
While we are sad and definitely feel this loss we trust that God is sovereign and good. God sees a much bigger picture than we do and we trust in Him and His plan. God is so good and while this isn't what we wanted we have peace and we feel that Emmanuel is now safe in his Savior's arms.
Please keep our family and Emmanuel's family in your prayers, his Grandmother was his primary caregiver before us. Our girls seem to be more tender than our boys and they were closer to Emmanuel than the boys so they are feeling this loss in a different and deeper way. We were blessed to spend these last few months with Emmanuel even with his physical challenges. I know he was loved well by our family for the last several months.
Additionally,
We have had a busy week and lots of processing going on. Will you please keep our kids in prayer? Life is so different for them right now, we've been out of school since March, our "Auntie Dottie" is out on maternity leave and now we have loss to walk through again. Many say kids are resilient and they are but our kids are already dealing with a lot! Thank you for your continued prayers and support, it means a lot to us here in Kenya! 💜
Thank you also to the ones who lovingly and generously provided us funds to take care of baby Emmanuel’s medical and burial expenses. God knows who you are, and shall be your great reward!
