Giving Tuesday

On this Giving Tuesday we hope that you will consider making a donation to Mercy Ministries! Just like every other day we have a lot of needs. We have a lot of children, students, church attendees, and many from our village depending on us these days. When caring for so many the needs are unending and the Lord has been so gracious to continue to provide for this ministry over the last (almost) 6 years! If you are able to give today you have options! You can make a donation to our general fund, you can specify where you’d like the money to go or we can use it as we see fit. You can make a donation towards Christmas gifts for the children from our village who attend out church so that we are able to give them a pair of shoes, a clothing items, and a few food items for their family to be able to celebrate Christmas. You can also give towards a work truck for Mercy Ministries or towards the building fund allowing us to eventually complete the high school section of Mercy Christian Academy.

Here are some quick facts about Mercy Ministries:

  • We have 115 children living at Mercy Home full time

  • We have 230 students attending Mercy Christian Academy where they receive a Christian education absolutely free because of many loving donors

  • We are averaging 450+ in attendance at Mercy Baptist Church where the Gospel is preached each Sunday

  • We provide 11 boxes of food each month to families and widows in our village

  • We provide diapers and wipes to 30 Mom’s who have babies in the NICU at our county hospital

  • On a regular basis we help others by paying for their medical needs

  • We serve over 4,500 meals a week between our church, home, school, and a couple of neighbors we feed.

  • We have a Bible College class that meets each week where about 15 students are trained in the word of God, many of them hearing the true Gospel for the first time.

  • We now have over 60 Kenyan employees working with us

Just by reading through these few quick facts you can imagine many of the needs we have. Some things we are hoping to fund as we close out 2022, besides the needs listed above are daily supplies for the school, new curriculum for 5th, 7th, and 11th grade, funds to make some improvements in the kitchen, and funds to continue feeding our growing crew.

I can assure you that when you give to Mercy Ministries you are helping get the Gospel out to our village and surrounding villages though the weekly church service held at Mercy Baptist Church. You are helping us raise 115 children in the Word of God! You are helping educate 240 students academically and spiritually. You are helping provide an income for over 60 families in the middle of a tiny village that doesn’t have many employment opportunities. You are helping our village by providing food, money for medical care, and homes for some of them. You are helping create real life change here and we are so very grateful for that. Thank you for all of your prayers, love, encouragement, and giving.

If you haven’t seen our video on how Mercy Ministries is Christ-centered I would encourage you take time to watch it. It is a quick, informative overview of our 3 main ministries and how we work to keep them Christ-centered.
