MCA High School Update

We opened the high school campus at the end of April 2202. We have 4 classrooms and 10 toilets and have 96 students in 7th through 10th grade attending at this campus. Things have been running pretty smoothly despite the classrooms not being 100% complete. It is only by the grace of God that those classrooms are at a functional point due to all the sickness we had March through July. They aren't perfect, but functional and students are learning about Jesus and required academics. What a blessing!

The 9th and 10th grade classes

It is time for us to start focusing on adding 2 classrooms (one building) to the high school campus. For the 2023 school year, which starts in January for us, we need to have 2 more classrooms built. One classroom will be for our 11th grade students and the other will be a multi-purpose lab. The lab will be primarily for science, but we'd love to eventually be able to use it for a computer lab as well. We definitely want to design it as a multi-purpose lab since it will not need to be used as a working science lab on a daily basis.

7th and 8th grade classes and the rock Karson burned and busted up.

In order to get these 2 classrooms built we need to raise about $35,000. The sooner we have funds to build with the better. Not only is time "ticking", but locally we can't buy dry wood. All of the trusses are built from wood and we buy it wet and then dry it out. Our hope is to completely finish these classrooms before January and if at all possible pour the flooring in the 3 classrooms that do not have cement floors yet. It will take at least a month of building to get these two classes built, but probably closer to two months knowing we will have some delays along the way, we always do.

Building the 9th and 10th grade classes.

We have an ongoing fundraiser for the high school campus on our website. It currently has $25,570 donated to the $100,000 goal, but all of that has been spent. We need to get that fundraiser to at least $60,570. We will still have other needs, but the biggest part is getting the classrooms built. We are still seeing higher prices on building materials (and everything else) but January is coming so we need to get to building.

A few specific prayer request for this project.

Funding-we are aware that this is a large financial need and this is just part of the high school campus. But it is such a big need and blessing to those in our village. MCA educates and feeds (Biblically and academically) students completely free and it employs people therefore further supporting our area.

Safety-accidents happen and sometimes people get hurt. Safety seems to be a bit of an afterthought here.

Growth-it takes a lot of people to get these classrooms built. Not only do we want to see the school campus grow, but the laborers as well. Teaching others to do the job they have always done differently can be a huge challenge.

Schedule-we seem to always fall behind schedule. Materials, funds, weather, and sickness seem to delay things. Please pray that these 2 needed classes would be ready at the beginning of January 2023.

God would be glorified-I think it is easy to get focused on just getting the buildings built, but it is definitely more than that. We will have a crew of workers working 6 days a week and we'd love to teach them about Jesus during their time with us. We are working on a schedule that would allow for both to happen on a daily basis.

Salvation for our students-the students at MCA are hearing the Gospel on a regular basis. Please pray for God to soften their heart and cause them to recognize their sin and to turn to Him.

Of course we have many more dreams for this high school campus, but we are trying to knock it out piece by piece while remaining in His peace! Having such big dreams and being faced with so many needs (inside and outside of the school) can quickly start to feel like we aren't doing enough, but we know God has the perfect timeline for MCA. Please share this project and these specific prayer requests with others. The Lord has used others sharing the work He is doing here to add to our team many, many times. It is such a blessing to know that others are standing with and for us.
