Mercy Ministries - AFM Africa - Proclaiming Christ in Kenya
Upcoming Visit to the U.S.
As we are confirming dates and locations to meet and share what God is doing in our little village it is time to start raising funds for this trip. We have already confirmed meetings in Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas, Missouri, Georgia, Florida, California, Hawaii, we still have others we are working on, and room for a couple more visits in a variety of places. If you'd like to hear what God is doing in our small Kenyan village reach out and let us know! Our board secretary is helping me coordinate all of our travel so please reach out to her with any questions. Tanya@mercyministries.ngo
As many of you know inflation in Kenya has been on the rise over the last year or more and our needs at Mercy Ministries have only increased. We currently have 122 children living in the home, we have an enrollment of 230 at the school, and about 800 attending church weekly. All of that coupled with the inflation that America is experiencing has equalled a decrease in funding for Mercy Ministries this year. We are not operating out of excess and need to fundraise for most everything at this point while we are still trusting God to meet our needs and show us where and when to make cutbacks.
Some of you are probably thinking that we should not come to the states if finances are that tight and I agree, however, we feel that it is vital that we meet with others and share what God is doing in our small village and see what He does with that. The G3 conference in Georgia, while costly for our little ministry, is a great opportunity for us to share with possibly thousands of others what God is doing here. G3 has currently sold over 6,500 tickets, our prayer is that God would use this opportunity to share what He is doing here in ways that we haven't even thought of. Jeff and I also feel a great amount of responsibility to sit face to face with as many of our donors as possible and try to convey the impact they are having here. We are well aware that as donors you have thousands of options on where you want to make an impact, we are grateful for each and every prayer, share, and donation.
As you may know on this trip we will be bringing our 2 middle daughters (Ava-Joy and Violet) who haven't been back to the states since we moved here in 2016. We are excited to be able to share this experience with them and for y'all to hear a bit about things from their perspective. While they won't be on a stage somewhere telling you all about their life in Kenya they will definitely answer your questions, and are excited to visit their family and friends in the states.
Please be in prayer for us, leaving our home and many children isn't easy, the burden to care for so many isn't easy, our funding needs to increase or we need to decrease somewhere, and please pray that our visit to the states would be fruitful, not only in funding, but in encouragement to us and others. We serve a big and loving God, bigger and more loving than we can fathom and we are beyond blessed that He allows us to live this incredible life in Kenya. You can follow my Facebook posts to keep up with where we will be in the states. My Facebook account is public so you do not need an account to see mine.
